Cowley Electrical is a family-managed electrical business specialising in solar photovoltaic (PV) installations and other emerging smart energy services.
Founded in 2007, our head office in Rugby is managed by Founder-Director and Principal Electrician, John Cowley. John was previously in local government (random fact: some of Rugby council’s earliest wild-flower plantings were initiated by John. Nice one JC). John possesses special powers in fault-finding and remediation. When he’s not working, he loves family time, walking Jack (the Border Collie) and supporting Leicester Tigers .
Paul Cowley is the company’s Principal Engineer and is also a qualified electrician with key responsibility for solar projects. He has been working in the renewable energy sector since 1993, his interest being sparked (excuse the pun) while studying for an Engineering Degree at Birmingham University. He went on to complete a Masters in Energy Conservation and Management followed by umpteen years as a renewable energy consultant and project manager. These days he mostly works from the beautiful village of Solva in Pembrokeshire. At least he says he’s working; we suspect sometimes he might actually be surfing.
We are a member of NAPIT’s Competent Persons Scheme and are ‘Part-P Compliant’, enabling us to self-certify our works in Domestic properties. All our staff and associate electricians are qualified to the latest 18th Edition BS7671 Electrical Regulations.
Cowley Electrical, trading as Solar-Technics, is also a qualified Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) solar photovoltaic installer. We adhere to the Renewable Energy Consumer Code.
For commercial projects we maintain SSSTS qualifactions, as well as other relevant site qualifications and training such as CSCS, SEATS, IPAF, PASMA, Harness & Lanyard.
